Most online lanyard providers only print on one side of the lanyard. Most don't know any better and the rest don't care. We care and are big propenents of using dual sided printed lanyards whenever possible. The reason is when you go with lanyards that are printed on both sides you always see the name of the school, business, event, or slogan which is the whole point: to see the message. Dual sided imprinted lanyards means you aren't constantly fixing the lanyard so that the imprinted side is showing. On flat lanyards, we always print on both sides unless we are producing our rush today lanyards or tomorrow rush lanyards.

Lanyards, regardless of the method of imprint, twist during the day. There will be numerous times that one sided printed neck lanyards will appear as a generic id holder. We tell customers that if you are going to go with a one sided imprint lanyard, then you should strongly consider going with a generic lanyard. You will save time and money. The quickest turnaround that most online providers offer on one sided lanyards is 2 weeks. With one sided lanyards, you won't always see your company, event, slogan, or school name and isn't that the point of getting custom printed lanyards? One sided printed lanyards are a big FAIL since your imprint becomes invisible at times.

In the top left picture, the orange lanyard appears to be generic on the wearer's left side and you only see some of the left side.

I spoke with a couple of the large lanyard providers many years ago about why they don't print on both sides and they explained that it wasn't available, people didn't care, and that most of their customers were using it for conferences which meant they would be tossed away after a couple of days.

I contend that people do care, but just don't know that a better option is available and they find out one sided lanyards aren't that great of a product after they have the order in hand. See pictures to the left.
