Detachable Buckle Imprint Options Explained Tempids.com offers both plastic and metal detachable buckles as an option on custom printed lanyards. One of our popular offerings is that we will print on the detachable buckles for free. You simply pay for the buckle. Detachable buckles are offered on our silk screened, heat transfer, and sewn in lanyards. Buckle imprinting is not available on our Personalized Lanyards, 24 hour lanyards , or 3 day production lanyards. Minimums apply. It is important to note that detachable buckles are also called quick release buckles, but they should not be confused with the break away option for safety. Detachable buckles are meant to remove the bottom part of the lanyard without removing the entire lanyard from your neck. The break away feature is for safety and the lanyard will come off of the neck if it is pulled. You can get a lanyard with a detachable buckle and a break away feature for safety, but the two are separate items. There has been cross reference of detachable buckle and break away by some clients. We have three methods of imprint on the detachable buckle -- flat printing on the plastic buckle, embossed printing on the plastic buckle, and laser engraving on metal buckles. You simply pay for the buckle and we print on the buckle at no extra charge. You can even have different messages flat printed on the plastic buckle or laser engraved on the metallic buckles. Most customers select the black plastic buckle as the standard issue. You can even get a plastic buckle that is the same color as the lanyard color as an additional option. Tempids.com manufactures two types of metal buckles -- metal on plastic and metal on metal. Either type of buckle comes with the standard laser engraving for a permanent impression. Tempids.com is one of the few lanyard providers offering printing on the detachable buckles. Detachable buckles are popular to remove the ID card to scan for access control modules.
