The detachable buckle is a popular upgrade for personalized lanyards as well as regular custom printed lanyards. The detachable buckle or simply buckle allows you to remove the bottom portion of the lanyard without removing the entire lanyard. This is not a safety mechanism like the break away lanyards.

In the detachable buckle lanyards pictured to the left, we show what the buckle lanyard looks like before and after detaching. This lanyard shows the swivel hook attachment at the bottom.

The buckle increases the amount of lanyard material used on your job. You have the regular 35" of lanyard fabric used for the larger loop for the lanyard above the buckle and 4" of lanyard material below. Actually 2" of material shows since it is fed through the buckle and stitched close.

Why would you want to have this buckle feature? Ignore the cool factor for a moment.

If you use access cards to get into buildings, you can detach the bottom portion of the lanyard where the card is held by the swivel hook, scan the card and reconnect the buckle. Same thing applies if you use keys to open doors to rooms or cars.

There is no reason for you or faculty members to bend over awkwardly to use your keys with buckle lanyards. Simply detach to use the keys to open or lock the door and reattach when you are done.

Some customers attach the flash drives to the lanyard. You can easily remove the bottom portion and still wear the large loop portion of the lanyard that has the school name and your individual name in the case of personalized lanyards.

Your co-workers like to use lanyards to hang their store loyalty cards which makes them more accessible at checkout time than fumbling through your purse or wallet to find it. You can detach the bottom portion to swipe the card.

It is important to note that TempIDs.com offers printing on the detachable buckle like the sample shown to the right of the longhorn logo. Printing on the buckle is offered on custom lanyards only when ordering at least 500. We print on both sides of the buckle and you can print a different message on each side.

Unfortunately printing on the buckle is not available on personalized lanyards or personalised lanyards like our friends across the pond would write.

Please note the absolute minimum for this buckle option is 25 pieces and the price to personalize is $7.99 each. If you order 50 pieces then you can order a combination of personalized lanyards and regular custom lanyards to reach the 50 piece level or even the 100 piece level price. All lanyards would have to have the buckle and same school name or company name printed on the custom side. The custom only lanyards are cheaper by $2.00 per lanyard when ordering at least 50 pieces.

If you order 25 pieces and have less than 25 individual names to print, then we will print the same company name or school name on the left and right side of the lanyard on the balance until we reach 25 lanyards.

The pricing includes one color lanyard with one color imprint, free set up, and your choice of either a swivel hook or key ring attachment.
